As always Sedona is a place to connect to God, our Higher Self, Spirit. There are so many ways to call the One energy that supports us always. Sedona is such an amazing place of connection, and healing what gets in the way of that connection. Many come here for spiritual healing journeys, and retreats.
I was taking a workshop last June where we were taken on a simulated NDE (near death experience) by Anita Moorjani. If you don’t know about Anita she was dying of stage 4 cancer, and as expected she passed away. But in her case she only experienced an NDE and returned to her body healed. It’s a fascinating story and worth reading her book. ‘Dying To Be Me.
She led us in a meditation. In my experience with Anita’s guidance I was in this still quiet place and I said a prayer “I just want to stay with You.” The answer came back, “Then stay with me.”
I had to giggle. Yup! It was up to me to stay in the presence of God/Higher Self.God isn’t going to come and take me unwillingly along, and make me be happy. I had to be the one to choose.
This choice isn’t an all or nothing proposition. It can be a second by second decision to choose. Sometimes you remember, and sometimes you don’t. When you do remember to stop screaming at your family, or whomever, including the politician on TV, we tend to just do something to soothe ourselves, instead of looking at the discomfort with God/Higher Self.
It’s ok to feel difficult emotions when they come up, actually it’s necessary. But look at it without judging yourself for how you’re feeling. It’s just energy coming up to be released. We tend to hold onto these emotions by making up stories about it. If it’s hard for us to let go, we can choose to want to let it go. You can be willing to be willing.
Often our issues don’t disappear all at once, just keep communication open with God/Higher Self.
Someone once told me there was someone in their life they really couldn’t stand, but they were determined to let it go and see them differently. Yet every day she would come home and still hate this person. She felt she had failed spiritually because she couldn’t let it go.
I told her she hadn’t failed, she just had more seconds to go. It only takes one second to choose to send a loving thought, and then you’re back to rolling your eyes at them again. Great! Another second of love. This constant choosing one second at a time can shift your reactions to people and things. Now you’ve spent that many more seconds away from ego and onto God?Higher Self.
It adds up, eventually the scales tip more in the direction of Inner peace and that gets contributed to the world.
So when in my meditation I heard the message “Then just stay with me.” It wasn’t all at once or forget about it, it was ‘keep remembering to remember’
Even if I forget for hours. Just remember to remember.
