Awakening “From’ The Dream.

Tree with title

Sedona continues to be a spiritual mecca even during the Covid pandemic. The Vortex energy is ever present, bringing people onto Spiritual tours for meditation and inner experiences of awakening.

One could ask what are we awakening from?
I would suggest the question: What are we awakening to?
Both questions are relevant as we switch our attention.

Several years ago I remember working with the Law Of Attraction and I had a realization that it was possible to awaken ‘in’ the dream or I could awaken ‘from’ the dream, and awaken to
God/Spirit within me.
What it means to awaken ‘in’ the dream is we see our life improving, getting what we want, and accumulating what this world has to offer. Yes, it was possible to make my life better, to have more money, a loving partner, a nice house, and have all the good things of life. All these things are great and there is no reason not to have the best life possible. And it is possible you put all your attention on what you want, and it never happens, leaving you feeling like a failure.

My realization though, was that making my life better, wasn’t the goal of life, it actually kept me trapped ‘in’ the dream. It’s about awakening ‘from’ the dream, as life is presently presenting itself in this very second. Not after some fix, or waiting for things to get better first.

Again, if you are called to expand your life and create a bigger better expression, then do that, of course! We are meant to have the best expression of ourselves. But this is not the purpose of our life.

Awakening ‘from’ the dream and being present here, is a wonderful goal, if you want to even call it a goal. (Language can be limiting.)

To awaken ‘from’ the dream, live your life keeping your attention on God/Spirit and surrender all ideas, concepts, beliefs, opinions, fears, anything the ego-mind has to say that disturbs your peace.

A Course In Miracles speaks about being above the battleground. The battleground being the world ‘in’ the dream. The world in which we live, and grasp, and want things our way. The ego-mind rules the dream.

You can see the violence and hatred that this world expresses to see that the ego predominates here. When we do see greatness, and goodness, we are seeing the reflection of our God/Spirit Self in action.

So when we are seeing the world above the battleground we are seeing the world from God/Spirits perspective. It’s not that we are literally above the battleground, but we see life from a different perspective, outside our ‘normal conditioned’ way of seeing things.

I remember years ago being with a Meditation Master who said, “Just change the prescription of your glasses”. From the
ego-mind’s point of view, of being ‘in’ the dream it feels doable, and goes about trying to do this task which ensures failure. In this case the whole decision ‘to try and wake up’ is coming from ‘in’ the dream and so is doomed to fail. Many sincere aspirants will spend decades trying to wake up spiritually from within the dream. It is not about doing anything, it is about letting everything go and allowing Grace.

Being above the battleground is awaking ‘from’ the dream, even if it’s just one-second at a time, until we allow ourselves to just ‘BE’ above the battleground all the time.

As we awaken from the dream we let everything be as it is. We know we are from the same energy, we share the same ego-mind and the same God-mind.

We actually do know that there is no difference between us. That is why you see heroic acts of saving strangers. We know at the core of us we are saving ourselves. This knowing is clouded with all our conditioning and this is what keeps us ‘in’ the dream.

So the choice is ours to stay ‘in’ the dream or choose to see things differently.

Just remember that some people spend more time with the
ego-mind than others. Here is where compassion comes in. Everyone, no matter your opinion of them, is on a course back home to God/Spirit.

I wish it were a quick fix, but for most of us it’s a moment to moment decision. In doing so we can live awakened ‘from’ the dream, while seemingly living ‘in’ it.

We can now live with joy, peace, acceptance in all that life brings. (doesn’t mean you won’t get triggered! LOL, more on that if you choice private sessions.)

In seeing the world above the battlefield we have successfully changed the prescription of our glasses!  ©
